    Breaking Down The Kentucky Tight End Position


    The Kentucky Wildcats use their tight end for more than just run and pass blocking schemes. Jacob Tamme is the Kentucky Wildcat's 6'5" 240 lb. senior tight end who has 53 receptions for 584 yards and 5 TDs. His longest TD was for 40 yards and he is averaging almost 50 yards a game. Compare this to FSU's tight end Charlie Graham who has caught the ball only 11 times for 84 yards and 1 TD. Tamme often was the go-to receiver in clutch situations, with crucial receptions in the wins over Louisville, LSU, and Vanderbilt.

    He is the all-time leading pass catcher among UK tight ends and second in SEC history. Tamme is the first tight end in Kentucky history to be named first-team All-SEC for two seasons. (2006,2007). In the Wildcat's last game of the season against Tennessee, Tamme had a season high 104 reception yards and 1 TD. In the 2006 Music City Bowl, Tamme was a key performer in the upset of Clemson with four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.
