Carter Pick A Surprise

Of the coaching changes made so far, the selection of Dexter Carter as the new running backs coach is a surprise. Carter has no coaching experience although the former Noles running back does not think that is a problem.

He told The Tallahassee Democrat,"I believe coach (Bobby) Bowden made the right decision. A lot of people think this decision is out of the box - it's not. My opportunity to play at a high level at running back provided me with the kind of exposure to enhance my knowledge."

Perhaps but I hope this is not a signal that the running game is not a top priority for the 2007 season. As Jimbo Fisher has stated, a balanced attack is important.
