Who Will Be The New Running Backs Coach?

With the departure of Billy Sexton as running backs coach, yet another position needs to be filled. Here are some options.

    1. Edgar Bennett- The former FSU great and now running backs coach for the Green Bay Packers is being discussed as the favorite. Bennett would be an excellent fit and also would be in line with Bobby Bowden's commitment to hiring more minority coaches.

    2. Vic Adamle- He is the running backs coach for the University of Minnesota. Glenn Mason, the head coach, was recently fired so this would be time to see if their is interest in Adamle moving south. In 2005 season Adamle worked with Marion Barber III and Laurence Maroney, the most dynamic running back duo in NCAA history. Maroney rushed for 1,348 yards with 12 touchdowns, while Barber tallied 1,269 yards with 11 scores. With those rushing totals, Barber and Maroney became the first duo in NCAA history to each rush for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. The Gophers also led the Big Ten in rushing (256.8 ypg) and finished fifth in the nation.

    3. Greg Nord- Closer to home is Louisville running backs coach Greg Nord.Nord helped lead the Cardinal rushing attack to a school record 3,005 yards, including a school-record tying 20 rushing touchdowns by Eric Shelton. With Nord at the helm of the running backs, the Cardinals set a school mark for rushing touchdowns with 47.
