    FSU Kicks Off Recruit Weekend

Now that the "dead" period is over for recruiting, FSU will now be making the final push to sign some top quality recruits. The following recruits will visit FSU this weekend and will be able to meet the new coaching staff.

Ahmad Paige committed to FSU back in September on ESPNU but he is definitely a soft commit for FSU. The recent hire of Jimbo Fisher should be a plus since they are very familiar with each other. He is #14 ranked WR in nation.

    ____

Antwane Greenlee is a soft commitment, but not to Florida State. Interestingly, the four-star tackle committed to FSU last spring but then decommitted and gave Georgia a verbal pledge back in August. He is #13 ranked OT in nation.
    ____

Chad Jones is a five-star prospect and is a talented two-sport athlete. Jones could be a high draft pick in next summer's baseball draft. The Noles have looked at Jones exclusively as a safety but he recently told Warchant.com that new offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher might want him on the offensive side of the football. He is the #1 ranked safety in the country.
    ____

Defensive end Antoine Carter had a very impressive high school career racking up 33 sacks the past two seasons and did so against some of the top competition in the nation in South Florida. Florida State just recently began to show a strong interest. He is only a two star recruit and is not ranked.
    ____

Offensive tackle Zach Hillery committed to FSU back in late 2005 but was not signed with the rest of the 2006 recruiting class because of academics. Last fall, he enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy and has remained committed to FSU the whole time. Hillery will probably play either offensive guard or tackle at the next level. He is the #31 ranked prep player in the nation.
    ____

When the 2007 season rolls around FSU will have senior place-kicker Cismesia and junior punter Gano on the roster. Shawn Powell could be the kicker FSU is looking for. However, with the current shortage in scholarships, Powell would have to gray-shirt in the fall should he decide to attend FSU - more than likely he would also redshirt so his first action would be in 2008. He is not ranked.
