ACC Ends Bowl Season With 4-4 Record

ESPN, quoting an unnamed source, reported that former Arizona State head coach Dirk Koetter has been offered and accepted the position of offensive coordinator under incoming Miami coach Randy Shannon.

Koetter, 47, compiled a 40-33 record in six years as coach of the Sun Devils. He coached at Boise State for three seasons before that. Koetter, who directed the Broncos to a 26-10 mark, attended Miami's practice Wednesday in Boise.

Koetter has denied that he has accepted the position.

University of Miami junior tight end Greg Olsen signed with Miami-based agent Drew Rosenhaus on Monday and will make himself eligible for April's NFL draft.

Olsen, who graduated in December, decided to forego his final year of eligibility. He's considered by many to be the top draft-eligible tight end, with ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranking him first among underclassmen at that position.

''The information I'm getting is that he'll be a first-round pick,'' Rosenhaus said. ``He's got rare ability -- great size and speed for the position. He's very athletic. We're confident he will be an impact rookie.''
