FSU Sports Information Excerpts:
Saturday was a big day for the Seminole football team as thirteen members of the squad attended graduation ceremonies in anticipation of completing their undergraduate degrees. Ten of the 13 players that walked on Saturday were scholarship athletes. Tonight the team will gather at 6:00 p.m. for the annual football awards dinner. Sandwiched between both of those events the team practiced for 18 periods in uppers on the practice fields.
Head coach Bobby Bowden:
On playing Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl:
"They remind me of Boston College; they are physical and big. The big difference is that their tailback is a monster about 240 pounds. I think he has gained over 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons. The fullback's about 260, so they are just massive, massive offensively. Defensively, they are about the size as we are."
Senior wide receiver Greg Carr:
On playing against Wisconsin's defense:
"They are a very physical team. They play hard every snap, so we know we have to come out there and play just as hard and use our speed and quickness to our advantage. We know they are going to use their physicality and their big size as an advantage for them."
