Mickey Andrews' defense will probably face a physical Boston College offense with three first-year freshman starting in the front seven. And rover Myron Rolle will give FSU a fourth true-freshman starter.
FSU coaches announced that cornerback Tony Carter will play and could start. He has missed the past two games with a sprained knee.
Defensive-ends coach Jody Allen said senior Darrell Burston will start at right defensive end with Everette Brown behind him. McNeil, who wasn't cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse until the season had already started, will start on the left side. Neefy Moffett will back up McNeil, and walk-on Eli Charles will be third team at both spots.
Allen said he will be without D.J. Norris because of a shoulder injury for yet another game. Former defensive end Justin Mincey moved earlier this season to the interior.
On the offensive side, Bobby Bowden said he was not optimistic about the status of Brandon Warren (hamstring).
“Brandon tried to do some things today but he can't run,” Bowden said of the starting freshman tight end
