What To watch For In The Game:FSU-Duke

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Duke found a running game in its loss to Alabama, rushing for more yardage (201) than they had in the previous four games combined (150). But the Blue Devils' passing game produced only 74 yards as freshman QB Thaddeus Lewis continued to struggle (7-18-2). That doesn't bode well for the Blue Devils. They aren't likely to have as much success running the ball against Florida State, which is holding foes to 88 yards a game on the ground, and that means Lewis is going to have to have a more productive day throwing.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: The defense has become a much more solid unit than in previous years. The Blue Devils are holding opponents to 101 yards a game rushing, thanks to the likes of DT Vince Oghobaase up front and LB Michael Tauiliili. They are given up nearly 208 yards a game through the air, however, despite the presence of all-ACC CB John Talley, who has both of Duke's two interceptions.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We need to build and focus on getting better. I don't know what else to focus on. We have to learn from each experience, especially ones against fantastic opponents." Coach Ted Roof

    STRATEGY AND PERSONNEL

PLAYERS TO WATCH: TB Re'quan Boyette He had a big game with 97 yards rushing against Alabama and now leads the Blue Devils' anemic rushing attack with 133 yards for the season. He had a 78-yard run against Florida State last year that ranks as the 10th longest run from scrimmage in Duke history.

LB Michael Tauiliili The sophomore leads the Blue Devils in tackles with 39, including six for losses. He also has been credited with half-a-sack and two passes broken up.

CB John Talley The senior is a candidate for conference and national honors after adding two more interceptions to his total, giving him 13 for his career.
