FSU
SCOUTING THE OFFENSE
Look for the Seminoles to play Boston College in a spread formation and throw as much as possible. The Seminoles know their strength might be in a passing attack, especially against BC's vulnerable pass defense. It would also enable the offense to continue to put pressure on the Eagles. The Seminoles know they can't get into a field-position punt-fest like they did a year ago at BC.
SCOUTING THE DEFENSE
Knowing who can play and who is unable to play is the biggest issue right now. The Seminoles are going into this game in one of the worst physical conditions anyone can remember during the program's past two decades. They are playing freshmen, walk-ons and inexperienced players at a lot of positions. If you didn't know better, you would think this was Duke.
Boston College
SCOUTING THE OFFENSE
With QB Matt Ryan hobbled, or not 100-percent healthy, it will put more emphasis on the Eagles' rushing attack. In the favor of that ground game, the Seminoles are beat up on defense, especially at linebacker and defensive line, the point where BC will attack with its power game.
SCOUTING THE DEFENSE
The Eagles know they'll have to get pressure on FSU QB Drew Weatherford, because they do not have enough athletes or overall speed in the back seven to handle all of the Seminoles' receivers in a spread formation. BC has been very vulnerable against the pass, ranking No. 102 nationally.
