    Scouting Report: FSU-Duke

    FSU

    • The Seminoles will play Duke on the road in Durham for the second straight season. Only once before in ACC play has Florida State had to play an opponent on its home field two straight seasons.
    • Since joining the ACC in 1992, Florida State is 11-3 in its sixth game of the season.
    • The Seminoles are averaging 26.4 points per game this season. In the 14-game series with Duke,of which FSU is a perfect 14-0, the Seminoles have scored 44 or more points 13 times. The only exception was FSU’s 29-7 victory in 2004.

    With his 58 yards rushing in the NC State game, senior tailback Lorenzo Booker became the 11 player in FSU history with 2,000 or more career rushing yards...Prior to Brandon Warren’s five catches against NC State, the last Seminole tight end with five or more catches in a game was Melvin Pearsall who caught seven passes for 90 yards and one touchdown in the Seminoles’ 52-20 victory at Maryland on September 10, 1994....Buster Davis, who leads the ACC in tackles after five weeks of the season, is looking to be the first Seminole to lead the ACC in tackles in a season. His 10-tackle performance against NC State vaulted him past the Wolfpack’s Patrick Lowery for the conference lead. ...Florida State’s defense has allowed its opponents to convert on only one of three fourth-down conversions this season....Junior kicker Gary Cismesia scored eight points in Florida State’s game against NC State and is the team leader with 36 points through the first five games of the 2006 season....QB Drew Weatherford is fourth among ACC sophomore passing yardage leaders (4,172) and is second among active ACC quarterbacks with 23 career touchdown passes ... Gary Cismesia has made 32 of 42 career field goal attempts ... Cismesia leads the ACC and is fifth nationally in field goals per game (1.6) ... the Seminoles are 44-10 (.815) in ACC road games under Bowden ... Lorenzo Booker is five receptions shy of reaching the 100-reception mark for his career ... LB Buster Davis leads the ACC in tackles per game (9.0).

    Duke

    Saturday's game with Florida State marks the first of four straight home games for the Blue Devils ... Re'quan Boyette ran for 97 yards on nine carries in Saturday's 30-14 loss at Alabama ... after totaling only 150 yards rushing in the first four games of the season, the Blue Devils ran for 201 yards against the Crimson Tide ... Duke is ranked 25th nationally in rushing defense (100.8) ... Sagarin Computer ranks the Blue Devil schedule as the nation's 34th toughest ... WR Eron Riley is averaging 18.8 yards per catch in his career (24-for-452).
