"Rarely have the Terrapins had reason to be confident when playing the Seminoles, who have dominated the series since joining the ACC in 1992. Maryland's only win came in 2004, arguably the only bright spot in the first of two straight 5-6 seasons.
The Terrapins (5-2, 2-1) now stand one victory short of becoming eligible for a bowl bid, and would like nothing better than to accomplish the feat against the once-proud Seminoles (4-3, 2-3)."

"Maryland's defense sends a lot of blitzes at you, a lot of twisting and things that mess you up with their linebackers especially in the pass protection,” defensive lineman David Overmyer said. “We're going to have to do a really good job and really concentrate this week and focus in on our assignments so we can give Drew the maximum time he needs to complete his passes.”
Bowden noted that teams have been successful running against Maryland. But that's not something FSU has been consistently effective at this season. FSU is at its best when it throws the football. Bowden noted that Maryland, as does Boston College, wants to prevent the deep passes. FSU had success underneath last week against the Eagles, and but not enough to Bowden's liking. Chris Davis did have 10 receptions for 100 yards."
