Brown And Gano Named ACC Players Of The Week

Defensive end Everette Brown and place kicker/punter Graham Gano were named ACC players of the week. Brown earned the defensive lineman honor for his play against Virginia Tech as he became the first FSU player to record three sacks in a game since Alonzo Jackson in 2002. His four tackles for loss pushed Brown's career total to 36.5 moving him past Corey Simon (33) into sole possession of sixth place all-time at Florida State. Brown also set a single-game career-high with four tackles for loss against the Hokies.

Gano was named ACC specialist for his three field goals in FSU's 30-20 win over Virgina Tech. Gano converted on attempts from 50, 46 and 29 yards, respectively. He broke the school record with his 13th consecutive field goal and extended his own school record with a 50-yard field goal in a four straight games. He now has twice as many 50-yard field goals this season as anyone else in the nation. He accounted for 12 of FSU's 30 points in addition to punting three times for 155 yards (51.7 average).
