    Nole Defense Holds Wolfpack Scoreless In Second Half In 2007 Victory


    The Wolfpack came to Tallahassee on Oct. 2007 before a crowd of over 82,000. Xavier Lee was the QB for the Noles while Daniel Evans directed the Wolfpack offense.

    In the opening start of the first quarter, the Noles struck first when Lee hit Greg Carr for 53 yards to the NC State 6 yard line. Lee on third down ran the ball in for a 2 yard TD and the Noles led 7-0. NC State came right back and scored on a Daniel Evans pass to even the score at 7-7. NC State would later add a FG and lead the Noles 10-7 in the the first quarter.

    In the second quarter, Gary Cismesia kcked a 39 yarder to even the score at 10-10. NC State was stopped on a drive late in the second quarter by a Patrick Robinson interception that left the teams tied at the half.

    At the start of the third quarter, a Daniel Evans pass was intercepted by Michael Ray Garvin and returned 43 yards for a TD to put the Noles ahead 17-10. That was all the scoring that was done in the third quarter.

    At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Xavier Lee hit Greg Carr for a 40 yard TD to put the Noles up 24-10. Later Gary Cismesia would add another FG and the Noles would beat the Wolfpack 27-10 and hold them scoreless in the second half. The game saw Greg Carr have 140 receiving yards and 1 TD while Gary Cismesia attempted 4 FGs and made two. In addition, the Nole defense had 6 sacks and 3 interceptions.
