Through some lobbying by FSU Athletic director Randy Spetman and the ACC, ESPN scheduled the FSU-Maryland game at Maryland for a kickoff time of 7:45 p.m on November 22.
Spetman had been lobbying for a night game to give Rhodes scholarship candidate Myron Rolle a chance to participate in at least part of the game. Earlier in the day, he will be in Birmingham, Alabama for the annoucement of this year's Rhodes Scholar recipients. Rolle is a finalist for the scholarship and will go through interviews that Saturday. The winners will be announced at 6 p.m. EST.
The NCAA has given FSU permission to fly Rolle to the game in Maryland by private plane or charter. That way, he may be able to participate in part of the game against the Terrapins.
